For people who got scammed first

I got scammed in crypto.
Here's what to do in the first 24 hours.

If you lost money to a crypto scam, the next 24 hours matter more than any recovery pitch you're about to get. So here's what we do with new members who got scammed before they found us: a personal audit of what happened, and then the skills that make sure it never happens again. It all lives in the Crypto Renegades Skool Community. Try it free for the week, then it's $97/month.

Let's be straight about where you are

You got scammed. And look, smart, successful, respectable people get scammed in crypto every single day. In our own member survey, 92% of the people who came to us had been scammed before they ever found us. So forgive yourself first, because without that, the path out of this is brutal.

Now here's the part I'm not going to soften. Once is a rite of passage. Twice means you skipped the audit.

So who is this page for? It's for the person who's ready to take responsibility for what happened and wants to be in the driver's seat from here on out. And if you're looking for somebody to recover the money, or somebody to trade it for you next time, you're about to get scammed again, and we can't help you with that.

Why does the way back after a crypto scam start with you?

People have been coming to me for crypto advice for a decade now, and at this point I'm pretty sure I've seen it all. Most folks' first step into crypto is an emotional one. They see people online claiming big results and they want in on it. But they're a rookie to the game... and have no idea how to do it themselves. So they go looking for someone who'll do it for them.

That person does not exist. Nobody will steward your assets with the responsibility you will. The dashboard with your name on it was never your money, and the "trader" behind it was never going to hand it back.

And the moment that lands, something flips. Instead of looking for the next person to trust, you start asking how to do it yourself. That's the whole way back, right there.

And so you know who's talking, here's what that decade looks like from the outside. Two of my public Facebook posts from 2017: the $3,000 bitcoin breakout call in August, and a bitcoin chart I posted later that year.

What's the first thing you do after a crypto scam?

Not a recovery service, and not a lawyer who found you on Instagram. An audit.

So sit with it for one day, not a month, and answer three questions in writing:

  1. Which emotion got you? Greed, FOMO or romance.
  2. Which red flags can you see now that you couldn't see then?
  3. Why did you hold on as long as you did?

That audit is the first thing a new member does inside the Scam Vault, and it's why the second scam doesn't happen to the folks who do it. The folks who skip it stay in the bad news. The folks who do it come out the other side.

What your first weeks look like

The order matters here. We don't start with charts. We start with what happened to you, and then we hand you control of your own crypto, one step at a time.

  1. 01

    The personal audit

Which emotion, which red flags, why you held on. One day, in writing. This is step one in the Scam Vault and it's not optional.

  2. 02

Why people get scammed, and how

The mechanism of each scam is half of it. The social engineering on the other end of the phone is the other half, and these people are really good at it. You learn both.

  3. 03

    The rest of the traps

The Scam Vault covers the 10 major scams in crypto with the real texts, calls and DMs, including the exchange impersonation text, the romance long game, the fake platform, the WhatsApp group, the imposter profile, the deepfake ad and the recovery agent.

  4. 04

    Custody your own assets

A wallet you control, a seed phrase nobody else has ever seen, and the habits that keep it that way. A member lost 10,000 XRP to a compromised wallet app the week we wrote this. Custody is the next lesson after scams, not an afterthought.

  5. 05

    A portfolio you understand

The Portfolio Protocol: market cycles, dollar cost averaging and custodianship, so what you hold is a decision you made, not a tip you followed.

  6. 06

    Exposure in both directions

Crypto swings 30% inside bull runs and 50% or more in bears. The leveraged futures course (25 lessons, more than 7 hours) teaches you to take long and short positions with fixed risk, isolated margin and the stop where the trade is proven wrong.

Try it free for a week.

You don't have to decide anything today. Do the audit, open the Scam Vault and sit in on a live session first, with everything above unlocked from day one. If it's not for you, walk away before the week is out. If it is, it's $97/month after that.

Nobody is coming to steward your assets.

That's the realization every member who got scammed eventually has, and it's not a sad one. It's a freeing one. The person who was going to do it for you was the scam, and the person who can actually do it is you, once you know how.

We don't manage your money. We teach you to.

Crypto involves risk, and nothing on this page is financial advice. We never recover funds, never manage capital and never ask you to send us crypto.

I need to be in the driver's seat. Then we teach them how, and they become their own asset.
Chad Wittfeldt, co-founder

Then what?

A week is enough to do the audit, get through the Scam Vault and sit in on one live session. And after that you'll know whether you came for a plan or for a lottery ticket.

Here's the course library you get from day one, with the Scam Vault sitting right at the front of it.

The course library inside the Crypto Renegades Skool Community, with each course shown as its own module

Now, the Skool Community is where you learn the material. The Crypto Renegades Mastermind is where you use it, with eight live sessions a week and coaches who check your work. So plenty of people start in the Skool Community and step up once they want the full environment.

And if you're not ready for either one, start free. Run the four-question check on how to spot a crypto scam, read why people get scammed in crypto, and set up a wallet you actually control with hot wallet vs cold wallet.

So here's your job this week. Write the audit. Three questions, one page, no excuses. Then come do the rest with us.

Questions people ask after a scam

  • Stop sending money to anyone, including anyone offering to recover it. Save every message and transaction. Report it at ic3.gov and reportfraud.ftc.gov. Then do the one thing almost nobody does: a written audit of which emotion got you, which red flags you can see now, and why you held on. That audit is what stops the second scam.

  • No. Anyone asking for payment before they do anything is the second scam, so do the free steps first: contact the exchange you sent from the same day and file at ic3.gov. Why almost nothing comes back, and the few routes that sometimes work, are in our guide to legitimate crypto recovery companies.

  • Yes. In our own member survey, 92% of the people who came to us had been scammed before they found us, and the Scam Vault was built for exactly that. Module one is the personal audit. Then you learn how every major scam works, how to custody your own crypto, how to build a portfolio you understand, and how to trade both directions with fixed risk.

  • No. Nobody can, by the route recovery services sell. We teach you how the scams work, how to hold your own keys and how to make your own decisions in the market, so it doesn't happen twice.

  • Three questions answered in writing within a day of realizing what happened: which emotion got you (greed, FOMO or romance), which red flags you can see now that you couldn't see then, and why you held on as long as you did. It's module one in the Scam Vault.
