Trade and chart reviews

A green trade can still be
a bad trade.

A crypto trade review inside the Mastermind means you send your chart or your closed trade to a coach in the Discord. Winners AND losers. You get one-on-one feedback on the entry, the stop, the size and the thinking behind it. Because the P&L alone won't tell you the truth.

Why get a trade reviewed at all?

Because the market grades you on the outcome, and the outcome lies.

You can break every rule you have and still make money on a trade. That's the dangerous one, right? It teaches you the wrong lesson, and you repeat it with a bigger size. That's how people hand back months of gains in one afternoon. And you can do everything right and still take a loss, because a stop placed where the trade is proven wrong gets hit sometimes. That's the job.

Two kinds of traders read this page. One wants to hear "nice trade" and move on. The other wants to know what they did wrong on the winner. Reviews are built for the second one.

A review grades the decision, not the result.

What does a coach actually check in a trade review?

Six things. Every time.

  • The entry. Did you get in after the level was taken, or in front of it?
  • The stop. Is it where the trade is proven wrong, with no buffer?
  • The size. Was the contract size set from the stop, so the dollar risk matches your rule?
  • The filter. Did the trade clear 1:3 risk to reward before you took it?
  • The management. Did you move the stop to break even around 1 to 1.5R, or did you sit there and hope?
  • The journal. Is it written down, so the next review has something to compare against?

On size, here's how Chad puts it: "The further away your entry is from your stop loss, the greater the exposure on the contracts. So we compensate by reducing our contract size and using a fixed risk at the stop loss, so our risk is always predetermined and pre-quantified."

Miss any one of the six and the trade wasn't planned. It was hoped.

Here's what that looks like written out. This is one of Chad's signals in the Mastermind Discord: the entry, the stop, the target and the risk to reward are all on the post before anyone takes it, and the charts are attached so members can see the structure for themselves instead of just copying it.

How a review works

Four steps. None of them is complicated... the hard part is doing them every single time.

  1. 1

Take the trade, write it down

Mock or live. Log the thesis, the invalidation level, the size and the plan before you enter.

  2. 2

    Post it in the Discord

Share the chart or the closed trade. Send the winners and the losers. Especially the losers.

  3. 3

    Get the walkthrough

A coach goes through your entry, stop, size and management with you, one on one.

  4. 4

Take one fix to the next trade

Fix one thing at a time. Your journal shows whether it stuck.

Why does a second set of eyes matter so much?

Confidence comes from doing, and from somebody checking. Think about it. Who's going to catch your blind spot? You? Some coaches send back a recorded video walkthrough of your chart, so you can watch it again before your next trade.

And sometimes the most useful thing a coach can tell you is simple: that's a good trade, take it. That one sentence does more for a nervous new trader than another hour of YouTube.

Who gets the most out of reviews?

Members in Phase 3 of the roadmap, auditing mock trades in their journal. Members who just went live with real money for the first time. And traders who've been at it for years and want to find out why their results feel random. Want our first guess? Look at the size.

Trade review questions

  • A coach looks at your chart or your closed trade and grades the decision: the entry, the stop, the size, the risk to reward and how you managed it. Not the profit or loss.

  • Yes, and you should send them. A loss with a good process is fine. A win with a bad process is the trade to worry about.

  • No. One-on-one trade and chart reviews are a Mastermind feature, in the Discord. The Crypto Renegades Skool Community includes a 1-on-1 strategy session every quarter instead.

  • Yes. Phase 3 of our roadmap is mock trading with a journal, and reviewing those trades is the whole point of it.

Get the decision graded, not the result.

Apply for the Mastermind and bring your journal. Want somebody to tell you you're right? Look elsewhere. Want to find out where you're wrong before the market does? This is the room. Crypto is risky, and nothing here is financial advice.
